Our Fees

At Legal Pathway Solicitors Limited, we believe in transparency regarding our fees. We understand that legal matters can be costly, so we strive to provide our clients with a clear understanding of the costs associated with their cases. Our fees are always competitive and reflective of the level of expertise and experience of our legal team.

We offer a range of fee structures, including fixed fees, hourly rates, and conditional fees, depending on the nature of the case. We also provide regular updates on the costs incurred throughout the case so that our clients are always aware of the financial implications. At Legal Pathway Solicitors Limited, we aim to provide our clients with the highest level of service and value for money.

Immigration

Our Prices:

At Legal Pathway Solicitors Limited we want to ensure our clients and potential clients have all the information they need to make informed decisions about our services. Below is a guide to our prices for immigration work, which we mainly undertake on behalf of members of the public. However, we also deal with asylum applications and provide immigration services to businesses, and those services are not included in this guide.

Fee Structure:

Depending on the type of application and the client’s circumstances, we may offer a fixed fee or an hourly-rated quotation for our costs. The information below relates to both of these circumstances.

Fixed Fees:

We provide fixed fees for the majority of the work we undertake, as indicated in this guide. A fixed fee is an agreed-upon fee that will not be varied up or down and is not dependent on the application’s success. However, any disbursements (Third-party payments) or expenses incurred on your behalf or for carrying out our work are payable in addition to our fees. If you withdraw your instructions before the application is submitted, we will issue an itemised bill (based on an hourly rate, fee earner/solicitor who worked on the matter) according to what work we have done prior to withdrawing instructions and if a balance is due, we will issue a refund within 7 working days.

The above fees are inclusive of taking instructions, completing your application and submitting it to the Home Office. However, Home Office decision times vary, and we cannot give a specific timeframe for when your application will be decided. The above fees do not include any extra work after the Home Office has made a decision, and we will agree to further fees if further work is required after the decision.

Key Stages:

The key stages of work will vary depending on the complexity of the specific matter and your instructions. However, typical stages in an immigration application include:-

  • Initial consultation and advising on prospects of success and which application is appropriate in your circumstances.
  • Providing you with the initial pack along with the required documentation for the application
  • Completing and filing the application on your behalf
  • Preparing and submitting legal representations on your behalf
  • Corresponding with the Home Office/Tribunal on your behalf
  • The decision of the application
  • Lodge an appeal, administrative Review, reconsideration or judicial review if the application is refused. (This will be done for an additional fee agreed at that stage.)

Hourly Rates:

Alternatively, we work on hourly rates depending on the work you instruct us to do. The hourly rate we charge varies according to the seniority and expertise of the person performing the work. Our hourly rates are as follows:

GRADESTATUS OF THE PROFESSIONALHOURLY RATE (LONDON)HOURLY RATE (NATIONAL)
ASolicitors and legal executives with over 8 years’ experience£301£272
BSolicitors and legal executives with over 4 years’ experience£247£233
COther solicitors or legal executives and fee earners of equivalent experience£197£189
DTrainee solicitors, paralegals and other fee earners£138£134

At the start of each instruction, we will provide an estimate of how many hours we expect to spend working on your matter and we will give you an estimation of the cost. It is very difficult to accurately provide an exact number of hours in advance. However, an estimate of professional fees and any associated disbursements will be provided.

We will give you the best information we can about the likely overall cost of the matter at the outset and at other appropriate times. We will always inform you who will work on your case and their hourly rate. Please note that we record and charge for our time in 6-minute increments.

Factors that Could Affect the Overall Cost of Your Case

Factors that may impact the cost of your case include

  • Unexpected circumstances in your immigration history, personal circumstances, or financial status, which we were not aware of at the outset;
  • Delays in obtaining requested information;
  • Inaccurate, out of date, inadequate, or untranslated information provided;
  • Short deadlines;
  • The complexity of the application.

If the application is more complex, it may attract higher fees. In such cases, we will advise you accordingly.

Factors that Could Decrease the Overall Cost of Your Case

The following factors may decrease the overall cost of your case:

  • If we have worked on your behalf before and your immigration history is familiar to us,
  • If we handle multiple applications for the same organisation or family,
  • If you are able to provide sufficient evidence at our first meeting and clearly meet the applicable Immigration Rules.

VAT:

All prices listed exclude VAT. If Legal Pathway Solicitors Limited is registered for VAT, it would be applicable to the application, and you would be informed of the VAT from the outset. This is charged at the prevailing rate of 20% and is payable on our fees and on most expenses which we are likely to incur on your behalf. There may be some situations in which VAT is not payable.

If you have been granted leave to remain previously, then the 20% VAT is applicable.

These fees represent our professional fees; in other words, this is the amount that we will charge for the legal work that our firm will undertake in your case.
